Shabbat Lounge during the 2024 Sundance Film Festival was a success, with more than five hundred guests attending and networking at nine events over the first weekend of the festival.
We were honored to have the opportunity to bring together so many people from different walks of life to enjoy, engage, and learn together in the spirit of love and allyship at the Oasis of Chill, which is Shabbat Lounge during Sundance.

SHABBAT LOUNGE 2024 HIGHLIGHTS
• We held a meaningful Shabbat Candle Lighting hosting Israeli Hostage Family members, in partnership with the Hostage Forum in Tel Aviv, followed by a SOLD-OUT Shabbat Dinner to launch the festival’s first weekend.
• Guests enjoyed Shabbat Hospitality at our ‘Taste of Shabbat’ with Hosts and Sponsors MarVista Entertainment, followed by a packed house Dessert Soiree Shabbat Oneg.
• Saturday/Shabbat began with spiritually uplifting Kabbalah Inspired Shabbat MeditationShabbat Services, followed by a warm & welcoming L’Chaim Cholent & Chill reception with our L’Chaim Club Members and friends.
• Saturday night’s Host and Sponsor Appreciation event with a Musical Havdalah and delectable treats was an amazing start to the new week, together with our official Shabbat Lounge Drink Sponsor, Odyssey Elixir, Israeli candy from Jerusalem, sponsored by Jewlicious, Israeli wines, salads and other delicious fare.
• On Sunday, we hosted Filmmakers Against Anti-Semitism, a discussion with the Jewish Filmmaker Network and founder Marcus Freed; the lounge was packed (check out photos).
• Our final event was a very emotional talk about the Impact of October 7th on the Israeli Film Industry, hosted by the Israel Film Center’s Isaac Zablocki in conversation with Ravit Marcus about her Slamdance Premiere, Israel-produced doc, NINA IS AN ATHLETE.

Look in your gift bag for special Prayer Candles from Jerusalem in honor of the Israeli hostages held in Gaza, a gift from #YouBeTheirLight’ in Jerusalem’, and beautiful white candles from the United Jewish Federation of Utah. Please consider lighting candles every Friday night and encouraging friends to also light and pray at the time for the release of all hostages and peace. We need to bring more light into our world.
