Shabbat Tent is...
An oasis of chill
based on Shabbat hospitality, mindfulness, & nourishment
for the body and soul.
A space to unplug & connect
spiritually and communally.
A welcoming tent
open to everyone.
The Shabbat Tent Story starts in 1999, at the Phish Millennial shows. While originally conceived as a one-off project, Shabbat Tent’s success prompted us to create additional tents in the following years.
Part of JConnect since 2009, today Shabbat Tent has volunteer teams on the East Coast & West Coast, and in the Midwest.
We are supported by a diverse group of visionary funders and board members who share our passion for bringing radical hospitality to music festivals everywhere.
Over the years Shabbat Tent has participated in: Phish Fest 8, Superball Magnaball, High Sierra, Coachella, Lightning in a Bottle, Sundance Film Festival, Israel Festival, Bonnaroo, Reggae on the River, Wakarusa, Groovefest, Langerado, Beale Street, Woodstock, Mountain Jam, Peach, Gathering of the Vibes, Fare Thee Well, and Kate Wolf, Reggae on the Mountain, Groovefest, and many more!
Shabbat Tent has appeared in the LA Times, Billboard, Variety, Consequences of Sound, The Forward, Haaretz, JTA, Jewish Journal, and Desert News.
